Pastors

Hello Pastor or church Administrator,

I am the pastor of Falling Creek Baptist Church, located in Richmond, Virginia, and I welcome you to The Christian Peddler.

One of my elders and I have designed The Christian Peddler web tool with our fellow pastors and believer’s in mind. What if the needs within your local church and other churches, including the needs of your individual members, could be communicated in a way that made it possible for other churches and believers could learn of those needs and respond in one way or another? Doesn’t this sound Biblical?

As a pastor I am aware of the needs within Falling Creek Baptist Church, but I am only one person. What if each member in the church was able to let other believers know of his/her need(s) in a way that would allow a connection with other believers who can help? What if a local church had a need that another church could meet, even from a church that is outside its normal circle of fellowship?

Connecting is what The Christian Peddler wants to do. Churches with churches; believers with believers. This is the purpose and goal of The Christian Peddler.

What Exactly is The Christian Peddler?

It is simply an online platform where individuals can sell, barter, and/or give away goods and services. It is a place where a person can look for employment opportunities or search for employees. It is where ministry opportunities can be posted and ministry gifts can be discovered. The potential can be huge, but we cannot and will not do this without the participation of the local church. We believe that true discipleship, accountability, and ministry are matured in and through the local church. Therefore we need you to help us make this work.

The Christian Peddler is not just another open public forum or classified ads marketplace for whosoever. It is intended to be a platform for the Christian community with accountability beginning at the local church level.

The Christian Peddler is not asking for financial support. We are asking local churches to join The Christian Peddler so that their members will be able to go to the web site and participate on an individual basis. If a person’s local church is not a registered member of The Christian Peddler, he/she will not be able to post or respond to a posting on the web site.

Here are Eight Promises to the Local Church From The Christian Peddler:

  1. We will uphold the highest standard of integrity before church leaders, its members, and all parties that we interact with directly and indirectly;
  2. We will not share any membership information outside of our web site either directly or indirectly for commercial purposes;
  3. We will not share or sell any individual’s information with any source accept with the local church that he/she is claiming to be a member of;
  4. We will share periodic reports with member churches, such as:
    • • The number of its members who are participating with The Christian Peddler; and
    • • The contact information of individuals who want to be identified with a particular church. If a person is not a member, it will be a good opportunity for outreach;
  5. We will not allow an individual to falsely claim membership with any church. If a church tells us that a person who is claiming to be a member is actually not a member, we will remove the person’s participation from The Christian Peddler until further notification;
  6. We will display an internet link of all Member Churches for visitors to The Christian Peddler;
  7. We will only allow membership of local churches who agree to and adhere to the essential doctrines of the historical Christian faith; and
  8. We will remove a church’s membership and its members upon a church leadership’s request.

Church Membership Theological Agreement

Churches desiring to be a part of The Christian Peddler network must agree and adhere to a list of essential tenets of historical Christian faith listed below.

The Christian Peddler adheres to the quintessentials of historical Christian faith. All churches who desire to be a part of The Christian Peddler must also agree to and adhere to the historical faith, which was once delivered to the saints (Jude 3). We understand that there are minor differences of beliefs and interpretations of certain verses of Scripture between denominations and local churches. One thing is for sure, there can be no compromise to the basic foundational faith without exclusion to The Faith.

The tenets of faith that participating churches must agree and adhere to in belief (orthodoxy) and practice (orthopraxy):

  • • The sole authority for the Church is the Bible, verbally inspired, inerrant, infallible, and totally sufficient and trustworthy.
  • • The doctrine of the Triune Godhead, that is of the reality of the one true God in three divine persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Each member of the Godhead is of the same substance and perfections and of unity.
  • • Jesus Christ is true God and true Man in perfection. He is the fullness of the Godhead in bodily form.
  • • Jesus Christ was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the virgin Mary.
  • • Jesus Christ died on the cross, was buried, and resurrected bodily on the third day, as it is written.
  • • Jesus Christ was crucified and died on the cross as God’s perfect substitute for sinful man, and as the lamb of God became the sacrifice for sin, and He satisfied the righteousness and justice of God by taking the wrath of God that was due sinners.
  • • Jesus Christ ascended into heaven and sits on the right hand of God the Father Almighty.
  • • Justification is by faith alone. For salvation is by faith alone, through grace alone, in Christ alone. Man cannot be justified before God by good works or any other means accept in the righteousness of Jesus Christ.
  • • There is no other way, means, or name by which man can be saved and enter the Kingdom of God accept through Jesus Christ.
  • • That God has appointed the local church as the instrument and means of true discipleship and unity in the body of Christ.
  • • Jesus Christ will return to judge the living and the dead. The day has been appointed in which God will judge the unrighteous by the man Jesus Christ. God will justly punish the unrighteous with eternal damnation, throwing them into the lake of fire.
  • • The saints of God, clothed in the righteousness of Christ, will rejoice in the presence of their God and Savior for all eternity.
